A Series Of Unfortunate Incidents

This was the first episode of Monty Python's Flying Circus that involved just one story (as opposed to a series of skits) - called simply "The Cycling Tour". (Aired December 1972)

In the sketch, a tour of North Cornwall quickly devolves into a travelogue of bicycle accidents, damaged foodstuffs, and hanging out with Trotsky - as it somehow winds its way through Southern France, Smolensk, and Moscow. Eartha Kitt even makes an appearance at the end.

By far the smartest sketch comedy show of its era, Monty Python's Flying Circus went on to make some of the funniest (and most quoted) films ever.

The official Python site (Pythonline) hosts an extensive video archive here.

A definitive must watch/read.

We've said it before and we'll say it again: If you're not checking in on the Landlords on the regular, you're missing out on some genuine, OG bike culture.

It's like a history AND a future lesson all in one.
